Affirm
In partnership with Gauge.io, we created a tool to streamline Affirm's treasury operations.
Our tool reduces human error using AI to automate their allocation process, increasing productivity and profits.
Giving Affirm a secure, automated internal product
The $4B tech company needed a secure and powerful way to manage their cash-on-hand.

Brief
Prior to our project, Affirm used these massive spreadsheets to organize their cash flow process. It’s heavily prone to user error as it involves a lot of manual, tedious work.
Every week, their treasury team had to re-create this model by hand. In order for it to be approved, it had to be sent through a time-consuming gauntlet of approvals from senior team members.
Finding a solution
With our new app, new cash models are automatically created and scanned for errors via algorithm.
When the model is complete and needs approval, a team member just has to hit “submit model” and their job is finished.
This saves time and money by removing processes like manually entering numbers and e-mailing supervisors for approval.
Explaining the design
1
We organized their spreadsheet into concise categories in order to promote scannability. The origninal spreadsheet isn’t organized in any particular matter.
2
The “checks” tab runs an algorithm and gives the user actionable metrics gauging whether or not their model is profitable.
2
The “notes” tab replaces their e-mail threads, allowing the users to create comments around individual models. In prior processes, it was usually unclear which model the team would be referring to in their conversations, leading to more human errors.
Opening the doors for communication
We created a simple comment system in order to make conversations more powerful and actionable.
Taking these discussions out of email allows for internal company data to be kept securely in their internal platform.
